Everett Schools Asking Public To Report Problematic Instagram Accounts

Everett Schools

Wednesday afternoon the Everett School District published the following post on their Facebook page.

An unusual request from Everett Schools today. Click to enlarge.

Kathy Reeves with the Everett School District tells MyEverettNews.com via email they look for accounts that use their logo or images without permission or post objectionable content but get better response from Instagram when parents and others report those accounts as well.

“We have found an uptick in social media being used to bully and harass students as well as an “anonymous” way to post threats. When someone reports an inappropriate Instagram account, we report it to Instagram and ask to have it removed, but they listen better when there are multiple reports of inappropriateness. So we are asking for people to help report the issues and want them to know we don’t condone the accounts.”
