December 6, 2021

Police Blotter

Everett Police and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies used a drone, K-9 and less-than-lethal tools, finally taking the man into custody around 9:30 PM.

The parking area and Craftsman Way were shut down for most of the day.

Initial report 11:30 PM: A standoff between Everett Police and a man in a van parked in the Port of Everett’s Waterfront Center west parking lot ended until just before 9:30 Monday night.

The standoff between the man and police went on throughout the majority of the day forcing businesses to close and the Port to issue the following notice on social media Monday afternoon.

NOTICE: Due to on-going police activity at the Port of Everett’s Waterfront Center west parking lot (1205 Craftsman Way, Everett), we are asking that folks avoid the area until clear. The parking lot is closed and affected businesses in direct proximity are closed for the time being, including the Port of Everett Marina Office and Everett Community College Ocean Research College Academy.

Everett Police with assistance from Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies spent hours talking to the man who refused to obey commands to come out of the van. Officers could be heard telling the man over the P.A. system he was under arrest and to come out.

A K-9 unit and less-lethal options were eventually used by police who took the man out of the van. He was checked over by an Everett Fire Department Aid Crew and transported to Providence Regional Medical Center for an evaluation. No word at this time what the man was wanted for by police. We’ll follow up and try to get more specifics in the morning.
