It took several truckloads to get all the stuffed animals gathered up from the ice in 2018.

It’s always amazing to see thousands of teddy bears tossed onto the ice in the midst of a hockey game. Your chance to be part of that is coming up this Saturday night with the Everett Silvertips at Angel of the Winds Arena in downtown Everett.

Here’s how it works. Fans are encouraged to bring new teddy bears to the game Saturday night in downtown Everett, Washington as the Silvertips take on the Vancouver Giants.

Fans also have an opportunity to purchase a bear to toss during the event. The trigger for the teddy bear toss is the first goal scored by the home-team Everett Silvertips.

When the ‘Tips score their first goal, the bears go onto the ice. Now for some reason if the ‘Tips haven’t scored a goal by the end of two full 20-minute periods of play then the Teddy Bear Toss will take place during that intermission. (That’s only happened once that we recall).

The only thing better than the sight of all those bears hitting the ice is knowing the event raises thousands of dollars for Seattle Children’s and the Teddy Bears will also help out Christmas House and be used by law enforcement and firefighters in comforting children during traumatic situations.
