Everett Police Investigating Fatal Crash – Mukilteo Blvd Shut Down At Forest Park

Editor’s Update Monday 11/29 5:00PM The Everett Police Department says the crash is still under investigation. Today the Snohomish County Medical Examiner identified the two people who died. They were 67-year-old Otila R. Retel Azanedo de Jones of Everett, Washington. The cause of death is blunt force injuries. The manner of death is Accident. The other, 85-year-old William A. Jones of Everett, Washington. The cause of death is blunt force injuries. The manner of death is Accident.
5:50 PM Update with additional information from Everett Police: Just before 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, officers responded to W. Mukilteo Blvd – east of Forest Dr – on reports of a collision. Responding officers discovered a westbound Honda Civic was struck by an eastbound Chevy Tahoe when it turned left. The two occupants of the Honda, a male and a female believed to be in their 80’s, died at the scene. The driver of the Chevy, an adult female, was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The roadway between Forest Park and Dogwood Dr remains closed while Traffic Safety detectives investigate. At this time, it is not believed that impairment or speed were factors in the collision.
Use alternative routes as the roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours.
5:30 PM Editor’s Update provided by Aaron Snell with Everett Police: 2 deceased in collision between sedan & SUV. Other driver to hospital. Alcohol, drugs & speed not believed to be factors in incident. Roadway expected to remain closed during investigation.
5:00 PM Initial Report:

Everett Fire rigs block Mukilteo Boulevard.

Both directions of Mukilteo Boulevard between the west entrance to Forest Park and Dogwood Drive are closed as Everett Police Traffic Safety Detectives investigate a fatality crash involving two vehicles. The crash happened around 4:30 PM.

The road is expected to be closed for a couple of hours for the investigation and traffic should detour using Rucker and Dogwood. Drive.
