Police Blotter

The suspect used a shopping cart to smash the front door.

The suspect was expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

Early Saturday morning Everett Police received a report from an alarm company that someone was trying to break into the front doors of the Walgreen’s store at 132nd and the Bothell-Everett Highway next to Fred Meyer.

The initial report was the person was trying to break the front door with a brick. When that failed the person reportedly put the brick into a shopping cart and rammed the cart into the front doors until the glass shattered. The person then entered the store.

In addition to Everett Police, deputies from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded.

As the person exited the store several officers were waiting and after reportedly resisting followed by a taser application, the person was taken into custody.

No word at this time if this person is responsible for similar types of burglaries recently reported in the Silver Lake area of south Everett.
