An interesting event being held by Everett Elks Lodge #479. Here are the details.

Everett Elks #479 is sponsoring an Americanism essay contest for students in grades 5,6,7 and 8. In 300 words or less, students should focus on the theme “What Does It Mean to Love Your Country?” Eligible participants must be a student enrolled in the fifth, sixth, seventh or eighth grade during the normal 2021-22 school year. The essay must be typed or legibly printed in ink and must be submitted as written (or typed) by the entrant. Every essay must have the author’s name, home address, grade, school attended and sponsoring Lodge. Entry forms can be found at www.elks.org/programs/americanism.cfm. Entries must be received at Everett Elks Lodge 2802 Hoyt, ste. #100, Everett 98201 no later than December 15, 2021.

Certificates of participation will be awarded to all entries. Six winners will get Amazon gift cards. Division 1 (grades 5 & 6) and Division 2 (grades 7 & 8) first place winners will receive $50 gift cards. The two second and two third place winners will each get $25 gift cards.
