Everett Fire launched two boats with rescue swimmers and also used a new drone overhead in their search.

This was the first use for the Everett Fire Department’s new drone.

A closer look at the new drone equipped with camera and thermal imaging.

A large response from Everett Firefighters and police after multiple reports of a sailboarder possibly in distress on Silver Lake Tuesday evening.

Calls came in to Snohomish 911 just before 6:30 PM.

Winds were heavy and there was at least one report that the sailboarder was shining a flashlight and having problems on the east side of the lake near Emory’s.

Everett Police walked the shore and checked the docks while Everett Firefighters launched two boats and searched along the shoreline and across the lake.

Everett Fire also used a new drone for the first time illuminating areas from overhead for better visibility and using a thermal imaging camera to look for heat signatures.

After 90 minutes of searching, crews did not find any signs of someone in distress.
