Every once in a while Everett Police work on the demand side of the prostitution equation. Here’s an update from one such operation last week.
Last week, Everett Police arrested and booked five males into the Snohomish County Jail during a vice operation where undercover detectives posed as street walking prostitutes in areas identified as those commonly used for the illegal sex trade. During the operation, lone male motorists pulled into parking lots and approached the undercover detectives. After an offer and agreement was made, the males were taken into custody.
This operation was designed to impact the demand side of the Human Trafficking industry by focusing on buyers of prostitution. Detectives with our Intelligence, Major Crimes and Special Assault units, along with officers from the Anti-Crime Team and Gang Response Unit, were assisted by the Snohomish County Regional Drug Task Force.
