Fundraiser Underway For Everett Firefighter Injured In Motocross Crash

September 11, 2021

Everett Fire

A fundraiser has been started to assist an Everett Firefighter who suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash earlier this summer. Here are the details and a link if you’d like to help.

A Gofundme page has been set up by our firefighters to help one of our own, Firefighter Jake Olin, who suffered a spinal injury from a motocross accident in early June. Firefighter Olin spent several months in the hospital recovering from spinal surgery and then was moved to a rehabilitation center. His goal was to walk out of the rehabilitation center, which he did in mid-August.

Jake still has a long road ahead of him, and the finish line is unknown. In true firefighter fashion, he is always willing to help others in need and never asks for help for himself. In traditional firefighter family-style, our firefighters are rallying support to help Jake and his wife, Sheila. This Go Fund Me is to help with expenses and home modification efforts they will need to make to accommodate Jake’s motorized wheelchair which will allow him greater access mobility within his home.
Jake’s goal is to achieve the same level of mobility and capability he had before his accident, so he can return to helping others as he has always done.
To donate or offer words of encouragement and support, visit the GoFundMe link at https://gofund.me/029275d2. Thank you in advance for offering support and kind words.
We continue to wish Jake well as he continues to make amazing progress as he recovers from his injuries.
