Memorial For Tulalip Police Officer Charlie Joe Cortez To Be Held In Everett Tuesday

For those who would like to attend the Memorial or view the procession here is information released by the Tulalip Police Department.

On November 17, 2020 the Tulalip Police Department lost Officer Charlie Joe Cortez in the line of duty. Officer Cortez was 29 years old when his patrol boat capsized while responding to a call. His remains have not yet been recovered.

Charlie was a son, brother and father of two beautiful children. Charlie was a Tulalip Tribal member. He was born, and raised on the Tulalip Reservation which he proudly served. Please join us to honor his sacrifice and support his family.

The memorial service for Tulalip Officer Charlie Joe Cortez will be held on Tuesday August 17, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Angel of the Winds Arena, located at 2000 Hewitt Avenue Everett. WA 98201.

For those who would like to view the procession, we encourage you to find an area by 11:00 a.m. along Marine View Drive, North of the Navy Station. The procession will travel along the Everett Waterfront, then they will head East on Hewitt and proceed to the venue.

The service will be open to the public, and details will be released as they become available.
