The Parks plan was last updated in 2016.

The City of Everett, Washington is working on an update of its Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan known as PROS. This week the Parks Department released some early findings and feedback from those who participated in an online survey. The City says the PROS plan will allow Everett to be eligible for state grants through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation (RCO) Office. It will also support other City plans and budgets by helping prioritize projects and programs consistent with the community’s vision, service standards and funding. Here are links to the survey and a summary of the workshops.

Everett Parks is updating the Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan to create a vision and outline future service levels, capital projects, maintenance policies and funding options for the parks system.

Thanks to all who joined the outreach events and virtual visioning workshops to help plan for the future of parks! Our team enjoyed speaking with you all and hearing your ideas about how to create a sustainable and inclusive park system for all to enjoy. We’ve added our vision survey and pop-up event results to our webpage, everettwa.gov/PROSplan, and will continue to add updates as they become available. See the vision survey results here. Thanks to the nearly 600 persons who participated and shared ideas for current and future parks and trails! At pop-up events in June, over 80 families, kids and park-goers drew and wrote ideas about parks here. Thanks for the creative ideas!

If you missed the visioning workshops, you can view the meeting summary and recording below:

If you have ideas on how to improve Everett Parks, share them with Cory Rettenmier, Everett Parks and Facilities recreation and golf manager, via email: CRettenmier@everettwa.gov.
