Everett Allocates $1,000,000.00 To Start Forward Grant Program

Today the City of Everett, Washington announced it is earmarking one million dollars for a first round of grants to stimulate Everett’s economy. Here are some basic details and links to begin the application process.

The City of Everett launched the Everett Forward Grant Program, offering one-time grants to eligible applicants with innovative ideas and solutions to move Everett’s economy forward.

“The effects of the pandemic on Everett’s economy are broad and differ significantly across businesses, industries and neighborhoods,” said Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin. “The Everett Forward Grant program is designed with equity, creativity and community empowerment at its forefront.”

The program and application process are designed to be simple and accessible for many different types of organizations. Application materials are available in English and Spanish, and the City offers translation services for other languages.

Eligible applicants can apply for grants ranging from $5,000 and up for projects that support economic recovery from the pandemic. Funds are available for businesses, nonprofits, community organizations and individual sole proprietors. The program will allocate $1 million in American Rescue Plan funds.

“The Everett Forward Grant Program is designed with forward progress in mind – we want to use this opportunity to build up Everett’s economy, vibe and amenities so they’re better than before the pandemic,” said Dan Eernissee, the City’s Economic Development director.

Grant applications will be reviewed each Thursday starting August 12, 2021 and continue until all funds are awarded. Visit everettwa.gov/forwardgrant to learn more and apply.

The Everett Forward Grant Program is a follow-up program to the City’s Everett CARES Grant Program, which distributed $1.8 million to over 150 small businesses impacted by the pandemic.
