Everett Giving Away Free Reusable Shopping Bags

July 8, 2021

The City has a dedicated web page to track the changes moving forward.

The City of Everett, Washington is giving away reusable shopping bags. Currently they are available at the main library downtown or the south Everett library on Evergreen Way.

During the Pandemic the City lifted its prohibition on single use plastic bags. In anticipation of the Governor’s COVID-19 emergency declaration being lifted and a return to the plastic bag ban the City of Everett is working to get more re-suable bags into hands of shoppers.

The City says right now customers may still bring their own bags while shopping in most retail establishments, but may be asked by retailers to use self-checkout or bag their own purchases. Check with your local store for their policy.

The City will be updating their “Bring Your Bag” web page and adding more bag pick up locations soon.
