The show is expected to last about 22 minutes and will feature shells ranging in size from 3 inches up to 10 inches with many made here in the U.S. Cavitt says the show on the water is extremely safe with extra precautions being taken due to the dry conditions. This show is bigger than the past. “We’re really excited to be back in Everett,” said Cavitt. “This is going to be a great display!”
There is no parking around Legion Park and the free shuttle from the Walt Price gym to the festival area and back has been running with no issues. Most are remembering to wear masks and Everett Transit has a limited supply if people forgot.
Areas along West Marine View Drive have been blocked off for Transit only and police will be on hand to help direct traffic.
Extra Everett Police officers have been called in with a squad specifically designation to respond to fireworks complaints. Police are asking for patience as calls on the non-emergency line come into the cue and are sent out by dispatchers.
11:30 PM Update: The fireworks show began promptly at 10 PM and lasted just shy of 22 minutes. At the same time fireworks were going off all over the city with Everett Police command staff and detectives answering fireworks calls and issuing warnings. There was a serious-injury motorcycle crash 0n Westbound 526 that blocked both lanes for about 20 minutes that was handled by patrol officers. No major fire calls to report as of this time.
