The fire is spreading through grass east of I-5

A car fire started the blaze.

Initial Post 3:45 PM: A car fire reported on northbound I-5 at the north end of the Snohomish River bride turned into a large brush fire near the sewage lagoons and treatment plant to the east side of I-5.

This began about 3:15 PM. Due to a lack of hydrants in the area tenders have been brought in to supply water to Everett Fire Engines. Traffic on I-5 northbound was down to one lane for some time. Will update as more information becomes available.
