Events in Everett

Saturday members of Everett Elks Lodge 479 planted American flags along the drives at Evergreen Cemetery.

Monday May 31st is Memorial Day but due to the Pandemic and a shortage of time to plan in person events under the new guidelines, there are no in person events scheduled for Everett, Washington.

Evergreen Cemetery will be open and flags have been placed along the drives by members of Everett Elks 479.

Local Scout Troops placed flags on graves of Veterans across the Cemetery.

Local, State and Federal Government offices will be closed along with most banks. There is no mail service but local garbage and recycling pickups normally scheduled for Mondays will happen.

For those uncertain on the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day here is a short answer. Memorial Day is the last Monday in May and honors men and women who died while serving in the military. Veteran’s Day is set for November 11th and honors all who have served in the military. (Armed Forces Day is the third Saturday in May and celebrates all active members of all five branches of the United States military. This year it was May 15th)
