Duplex Fire Displaces Two South Everett Families

Initial report 9:30 PM: The Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting two families after a fire Thursday afternoon in south Everett.
The fire was reported in a duplex on 5th Avenue West shortly after 6 PM and arriving Everett Fire crews encountered heavy smoke coming from one of the side-by-side units.
The fire unit suffered extensive damage. There was also smoke damage to the second unit.
An investigator with Everett Fire has been on scene this evening checking into what may have started the fire.
There were no injuries. Crews from South County Fire provided mutual aid to Everett Firefighters.
