Editor’s Update Thursday 4/22/2021 4:20 PM: Today a judge in Everett found probable cause to hold the man on $50,000.00 bail after reviewing probable cause documents submitted by Everett Police. In the documents detectives wrote the suspect told them he found the device in an abandonded house in Tacoma and wanted to see how loud the explosive was. They did not identify the type of explosive. The suspect’s defense attorney tried to argue there was no intent to harm so there was no probable cause but the prosecutor disagreed saying the suspect didn’t take the explosive to a distant area but set it off next to an occupied apartment building. Prosecutors now have three days to file formal charges or release the suspect from jail.
