Everett Parks Recreation And Open Space Plan Under Review

April 15, 2021

Everett Government

Your participation is requested as the City of Everett, Washington looks at the future of the entire park and open space system. Here’s a brief overview and link for you to provide feedback and suggestions.

Everett is developing an update to its current Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan.

The new 2022 plan will be based on an extensive public outreach process and will create a vision and outline future service levels, capital projects, maintenance policies and funding options for the parks system.

The PROS plan will allow the City to be eligible for state grants through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO). The PROS Plan will also support other City plans and budgets.

Stakeholder outreach begins in Spring 2021 with a survey, sharing of information and opportunities for discussion. In Summer 2021, the City will share park system improvement concepts with opportunities for pop up events and other activities. A draft PROS Plan will be developed in Fall 2021 and shared at public meetings and online. The plan must be adopted by March 1, 2022 to meet RCO requirements.

Community members are invited to rethink community wellbeing and create a sustainable and inclusive park system by participating in the PROS plan update.
