The McClain Insurance team has been Silver Sponsors of Cocoon House’s An Evening in SILK Dinner and Auction since 2015, ensuring that every dollar raised at the event goes directly to Cocoon House’s vital youth outreach, housing and prevention programs.

Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance are proud to announce that McClain Insurance Services has earned a 2021 Make More Happen Award, which recognizes its exceptional volunteerism with Cocoon House and demonstrating its commitment to making a positive change within their community. The award includes a $5,000 donation with a chance to double the amount to $10,000 that will directly benefit Cocoon House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people, families, and the community to break the cycle of homelessness through outreach, housing and prevention.
For the last decade, McClain Insurance Services has been involved with Cocoon House. Their relationship started by making regular donations, to selecting them as one of their referral partners where they donate $25 for each referral they receive, to hosting gift drives and sponsoring annual Cocoon House events and more. Cocoon House typically relies on generous meal donations from the community and church groups which were halted due to the pandemic. Starting last June, the McClain team stepped in and started their Food For our Future Program where each Wednesday they provide dinner for 20 teens living at Cocoon House.
Given the challenges of 2020, the $10,000 Make More Happen Award donation will benefit Cocoon’s House immediate needs for teens residing in their long-term and short-term housing, providing 100 days of meals to 20 youths.
“Cocoon House serves an incredibly vulnerable population in our community and we are honored that McClain Insurance Services has the opportunity to support their programs and help at-risk youths find a stable home,” said Claudia McClain, a Safeco independent agent for McClain Insurance Services. “We are forever grateful to receive this Make More Happen Award from Liberty Mutual and Safeco to provide Cocoon House with much needed funds to continue their impactful work.”
Beginning on Wednesday, March 31, the story of McClain Insurance Services and Cocoon House will be featured on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.AgentGiving.com/mcclain-insurance allowing the nonprofit a chance to earn the additional $5,000. If the featured story receives at least 500 votes—shares to social media and comments on their story—the donation will be doubled to $10,000.
“We are so proud of our agents and their commitment to volunteering for important causes in their local communities to raise both funds and awareness,” said Abby Roosendaal Safeco Insurance Puget Sound Region Territory Manager. “The Make More Happen Awards allow our agents to make an even greater impact in Everett and we hope it motivates others to do the same.”
Throughout 2021, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select a total of 34 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $340,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit, along with photos of a project they worked on.
