Editor’s Update 3/24/2021 4:00 PM: Today the Everett City Council unanimously approved the name change.

At 11th Broadway splits into two different roads with the same name.

This little strip of Broadway in red is proposed to become “Trojan Way”

This portion has been known unofficially as “Little Broadway”.

On Wednesday the Everett City Council will consider a request from Everett Community College to change the name of the portion of Broadway between Tower street and Broadway (often referred to as “Little Broadway”) to Trojan Way. Here’s the summary from the City Council briefing sheet.

Project summary statement:
This Resolution would change the name of Broadway (commonly referred to as “Little” Broadway) between Tower Street and North Broadway to Trojan Way. Everett Community College has requested that the City change the name of Broadway
between North Broadway and Tower Street (commonly referred to as “Little” Broadway) to Trojan Way.

Pat Sisneros, Vice President of College Services for Everett Community College, has endorsed this proposed street name change. On September 17, 2020, the Transportation Advisory Committee recommended approval of this proposed street name change.

On February 23, 2021, the Historical Commission approved the proposed road name change to Trojan Way. The vote was unanimous in support of this requested change.

There are two properties addressed from Broadway, 931 Broadway and 1004 Broadway, which are student housing buildings, and both property owners approve of the change.

The proposed street name change distinguishes the street from North Broadway and reduces confusion for new students and residents.
