Detectives In Everett Busy With Two Separate Violent Crimes

An Everett Police Officer on Juniper Drive.

A busy day for the Major Crimes Unit of the Everett Police Department.

Police spent most of this afternoon at an address in the 7300 block of Juniper Drive in the Valley View neighborhood east of I-5.

According to Everett Police spokesman Kerby Duncan, a resident was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being assaulted late Sunday morning. Detectives were processing the scene and believe they know the identity of the suspect and this was not a stranger to the resident.

The bus was south on Evergreen Way at Bruin Boulevard.

At 8:15 PM Everett Police received calls of shots fired on a Community Transit Swift Bus. The bus was travelling southbound on Evergreen Way when two males in the back of the bus got into some type of altercation.

According to Everett Police Spokesman Kerby Duncan one of the men took out a gun and shots were fired.

The person who fired the gun was taken into custody. Medics were called and were unable to save the shooting victim who died on the bus.

Major Crimes Detectives are investigating the circumstances. The southbound lanes of Evergreen Way were closed for a couple of hours.
