Demolition Beginning At Former K-Mart Building On Evergreen Way In Everett

Workers are on site preparing the building for demolition.

Demolition permits were issued on January 12th and workers are starting preparations to demolish the former K-Mart store and attached buildings at 8102 Evergreen Way in south Everett.

The current McDonald’s restaurant in the northeast corner of the property and the DaVita Everett Dialysis Center at the south end of the property will remain. Construction is expected to begin this year with completion set for 2023.

KMart

This was the original proposed layout for the apartments being considered at the old KMart site.

The project contains five new multi-family buildings with a total of 732,477sf of gross area including structured parking located at the ground floor of each building and a 9100sf rec center.

Plans call for 430 apartments, ranging from 1-bedroom to 5-bedroom units, with 327 covered and 361 uncovered parking spaces. Open space areas are proposed throughout the site for residents including a dog run, community garden, and play areas. Access to the multiple family development will be from 79th Pl SE and Evergreen Way.

All 430 units are being built as affordable which is defined in this part of Everett as: affordable to households whose income is at or below 60% of the median household income adjusted for household size for Snohomish County..

The project is being developed by Devco, LLC out of Bellevue.
