Medics transported the woman to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

Not a lot of information available yet as both officers from the Everett Police Department and BNSF look into the circumstances that led to a woman being hit by a train on the tracks east of I-5 near Riverfront Boulevard.

The incident was reported a little after 9 PM by BNSF employees. Officers from Everett PD arrived and began life-saving efforts and the woman was transported by Medics to Providence Regional Medical Center where she passed away. Here is the information provided by Everett PD spokesman Aaron Snell by email to MyEverettNews.com this afternoon.

Everett PD is investigating the actual collision (collision report/photos/clothing collection) while BNSF is doing the follow-up work (obtaining train video, etc). At this time, we don’t know why she was on the tracks.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death and release the identity of the woman.
