Everett, Police Blotter

There were no reports of injuries or damage as a result of the shots.

Tuesday night Eastbound traffic on the Boeing Freeway (Hwy 526) was stopped while Everett Police and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies dealt with a man who allegedly fired a handgun toward Paine Field.

According to probable cause papers for the man’s arrest, around 7:30 PM Tuesday night 911 received a report of gun shots coming from a car just north of the intersection of 100th SE and Airport Road. The caller said the driver fired shots toward the airport while driving recklessly northbound on Airport Road.

The car, described as a silver 4-door Chevy was found at the top of the eastbound onramp to 526 from Airport Road. Two men were said to be walking away from the car and as Snohomish County Deputies from the Airport approached the two, the driver reportedly threw a loaded handgun into the bushes by the side of the road.

That gun was recovered and according to officers a loaded magazine for the gun was recovered from the suspect’s pocket and spent shell casings matching the live rounds in the gun were found in the 9900 block of Airport Road in the area where the 911 caller described the shooting.

The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail Tuesday night on suspicion of felony drive-by-shooting and was being held without bail until his appearance before a judge Wednesday afternoon where bail was set at $10,000.00.
