The car was found just north of California and West Marine View Drive.

The cab was empty and a search is ongoing for the suspect.

The truck was reportedly stolen in a burglary

Everett Police Traffic Safety Detectives are investigating a crash that has shut down West Marine View Drive between Hewitt and Everett Avenue. We’re still getting information but what we know so far is a landscaping company out in Snohomish County was burglarized and one of their vehicles was taken early this morning.

Around 4:30 AM the vehicle was spotted by a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputy on Highway 9. The deputy tried to stop the vehicle and it took off north on Highway 9.

A pursuit began and the truck turned from Highway 9 onto 20th and then went across the Hewitt Avenue Trestle. As the chase approached the west end of the trestle the deputies terminated the pursuit due to dangerous conditions.

A couple of minutes after that deputies advised seeing a huge flash at the western portion of Everett as if a transformer had blown. The flash was reported to be seen as far away as Lake Stevens.

At the intersection of West Marine View Drive and California street deputies located a crash where a small car had been hit.

Just west of the intersection wires were down and a power pole was cut in half and two transformers were down. Just west of that the stolen vehicle was located smashed into a fence. The cab was empty.

Due to the crash and live wires it took some time before a K-9 track could be started. As of this writing the suspect had not been located.

The person in the car that was struck was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

For those using West Marine View Drive to and from the Navy Base and waterfront you can make access from Everett Avenue north.
