Everett Police take the suspect into custody.

A ladder crew with Everett Fire was brought in to bring the suspect off the roof.

One suspect reportedly tried to steal this car but didn’t get far before being taken into custody.

The store was extensively damaged.

Motorists navigated through a strange sight as they drove southbound in the 5100 block of Evergreen Way Sunday afternoon.

Everett Police are still sorting out all of the details but what we know so far is around a quarter to five two men allegedly tried to rob a store in the 5100 block of Evergreen Way.

At some point they began breaking glass windows and displays with a fire extinguisher.

After realizing police had been called one of the the two reportedly tried to steal a car while the other ran up Evergreen Way and west on 52nd. An arriving police sergeant was able to detain the car theft suspect.

A K-9 was brought in and the second suspect was found on the roof of the business to the south of the store where the robbery happened.

The suspect on the roof taunted officers and refused to come down. Everett Fire was called in to bring a ladder to the roof while Everett Police talked to the suspect who appeared to be under the influence of something.

A crowd formed in the parking lot across Evergreen Way with about a dozen people taking cell phone video as cars slowly passed by. Everett Police officers were able to get on the roof and take the suspect into custody. The next issue was getting the suspect off the roof.

An Everett Fire Department ladder truck was brought in and the suspect was put on a back board which was placed into a stokes basket and lowered from the roof.

He was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center. The other suspect was taken to the Snohomish County Jail and booked for suspicion of 2nd degree robbery and auto theft.

After being checked out at the hospital the suspect from the roof was also expected to go to jail and face a judge on Monday.
