Recently, the Anti-Crime Team (ACT) was on a proactive operation around Clark Park looking for suspected drug activity after receiving numerous complaints from residents about drug use in the area. As they surveilled the park, while families with children played in it, officers observed a 24-year old male sitting on a bench smoking illegal drugs while a 34 year-old male served as a lookout.

As the two continued their nefarious activities, a 44 year-old male walked up and officers observed a hand-to-hand sale of illegal drugs. Based on the activities of the three men, officers detained and developed probable cause to arrest them.

Aside from using illegal drugs, the 24 year-old had a court order prohibiting him from being in the park. He was booked into jail for possession of drug paraphernalia and drug loitering.

During a search of the 34 year-old, officers found substances believed to be heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, plastic baggies and a scale. He was booked into jail for delivery of heroin, multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The 44 year-old male initially lied about his name because he had an outstanding DOC arrest warrant. During a search of his person, officers found what was believed to be heroin and a .45 caliber musket rifle that had been attached to his backpack. He was booked into jail for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, making false statements, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
