Everett Schools Roll Back In Person Learning

Everett Schools

This went out today from Everett Schools for parents who had hoped to have kids come back next Monday.

Everett Schools are rolling back return to class.

November 10, 2020

Good afternoon –
I hope you and your family are staying safe, healthy and warm. We have an update for the move to Stage 2 which brings Developmental Kindergarten, STRIVE and Life Skills students back into the classroom five (5) days a week and Developmental Pre-K four (4) days a week, except for those who chose to stay 100% remote.

When we announced the upcoming move to Stage 2 we gave a specific date, which is currently set for November 16, but stated this return is based on current COVID trends in Snohomish County.

In the last several weeks the COVID cases have risen dramatically, and we have decided it is not the right time to bring students back into the buildings.

CURRENT METRICS 11/10/2020
• Snohomish Health District total cases over the last 14 days per 100,000 residents
o Status: 187.7 (prior week 124.9)
o Trend: Increasing

Delaying the return for these students who receive special education services was not an easy decision, but we feel it is the best thing to do for our students and staff. We will provide an update no later than November 30.

Thank you for your patience as we adjust dates based on the most recent data and thank you
for the continued support of your amazing students.

Please be safe and be well.
Dr. Ian Saltzman
