November 2, 2020

Everett Fire

Southbound Broadway was closed for about 20 minutes.

Firefighters check for damage to the building

A bit of smoke rises out of the HVAC system at the VOA building.

Traffic on southbound Broadway was diverted for a time during the morning commute Monday as Everett Firefighters dealt with a blaze by the railroad tracks under Broadway.

What may have been a campfire got a bit out of control and spread close to the VOA building.

Smoke was drawn inside and firefighters worked to vent the building. There did not appear to be any damage other than some discoloration from smoke on the Broadway side.

Crews had the situation taken care of within about 45 minutes.
