Naval Station Everett will be conducting a security training exercise at the Everett main base Tuesday, Oct. 20. The exercise is scheduled to occur between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. The base North Gate will be closed to commercial vehicles between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

During the exercise, those near the base may hear mass warning announcements from the base’s outdoor speakers.

The exercise will include security activity near the gates, active emergency response vehicles, and blank rounds. No live ammunition will be used.

The Navy regularly conducts training exercises to maintain and improve security and emergency response qualifications. These exercises help prepare for a potential real emergency.
