Editor’s Update 11:19PM:
Everett Public Works reports it was a 1936, 12-inch steel water main that broke just north of the intersection of 25th Street and West Marine View Drive Thursday evening.

It required crews to close the road in both directions while they investigate the extent of the damage to the road and the main. Though there was road damage, no other property damage was reported, and no services were out of water as a result of the break.

West Marine View drive is shut down at 26th.

Water comes from underneath the roadway

There are water lines, gas lines and sewage lines under the roadway.

West Marine View Drive is closed in both directions between 19th street at the south entrance to Naval Station Everett anvia d 26th street. Shortly after 8 PM crews were called out to water running out both sides of the elevated roadway in the 2500 block of West Marine View Drive.

The road has been shut down while Everett Public Works staff determine exactly what has broken and the extent of damage to the roadway. For those heading to Naval Station Everett the only access is from the north side of the base via the Alverson street bridge. No word yet how long the read will be closed.
