Detectives with the Everett Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit are trying to figure out the circumstances after a reported shooting in the Pinehurst neighborhood in central Everett.

It happened around 7 PM when residents called to report a man in their front yard who appeared to have been shot.

At about the same time police received a call from someone down the street from that location who reported he had shot someone.

The person who had been shot was taken by medics to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett with what Everett Police described as serious injuries.

Everett Police patrol officers were seen around a house at the corner of Lexington and Washington with guns drawn.

They detained one person from that house who is now being interviewed by detectives.

At the time of this writing (9:30 PM) no other details are available.
