Naval Station Everett is on lockdown.

We had received reports this morning from neighbors above Naval Station Everett regarding a “shelter in place” message heard over the P.A. System.

This only applies to the base and not outside the gates.

West Marine View Drive is open in front of the base but the road to the Marina and Restaurants (18th) is closed.

Here is an announcement received at 9:20 AM from Naval Station Everett.

At approximately 8:15 a.m. Naval Station Everett activated
its emergency operations center in response to suspicious package at the
base North Gate.

Navy emergency responders are on site and have set up a perimeter.

Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) specialists have been called to
inspect the package.
Base personnel have been instructed to stay indoors and remain sheltered in
place until further notice.

Access to the base is restricted to support the emergency response.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
