Public comment is open on a proposal to build a nearly one acre off-leash dog park between the railroad tracks and the Snohomish River just north of Rotary Park in the Lowell neighborhood.

According to plans on file with the WA State Army Corps of Engineers the park will be fenced with wire running about a thousand feet in length and five feet high.

It will contain dog drinking fountains along with a dog washing station.

This dog park would replace a smaller dog park located at Lowell Park next to the Tennis Courts about two miles to the north. That park is a third of the size of the one proposed here.

Public comment is being accepted on the plan until May 21st. You can click here for more details and plans.
