Police worked throughout Friday night in the search for a suspect.

One man suffered wounds which were not considered to be life-threatening after being shot while driving in south Everett Friday afternoon. Here’s what we know so far from Everett Police.

Major Crimes detectives investigate drive-by shooting that injured one in Everett.

Just after 2:30 p.m., officers responded to 8530 Evergreen Way on the report of a drive-by shooting. Arriving officers found the driver of a black Chrysler who had been shot. The driver, a 20 year-old Lake Stevens man, was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Major Crimes detectives believe there was an altercation between the occupants of a silver SUV and the driver of the Chrysler as they drove between the 200 and 500 blocks of W. Casino Rd. Shots were fired and the Chrysler driver was struck. Detectives will continue investigating what led to the shooting and are working to identify the suspect(s). However, initial information leads detectives to believe the incident was not random and there may have been a connection between the occupants of the two vehicles.

The Chrysler will be impounded pending a warrant to search the interior.

Eastbound W. Casino Rd was temporarily closed while officers searched for evidence but it is now open for normal traffic.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Everett Police Department tip line at 425-257-8450.
