“In accordance with today’s government mandate in relation to the spread of COVID-19 and limited crowd gatherings, the Silvertips plan to host the Victoria Royals on Friday, March 20 at Angel of the Winds Arena as scheduled, with the game closed to the general public.
As the safety and well being of our fans is top priority, while acknowledging the investments they have made, all tickets purchased for March 20 will be honored at a future Silvertips home game of the purchaser’s choice.
Multi-level ticket exchanges, vouchers, and information on future tickets are currently in progress and the Silvertips are expected to provide updates soon.”
“The WHL fully understands and respects the position taken by Washington State Governor Jay Inslee today and will comply with the public gathering requirements for the upcoming WHL home games of the Seattle Thunderbirds and Everett Silvertips,” commented WHL Commissioner Ron Robison. “We take the safety of our players, officials, staff, fans, and everyone associated with the WHL very seriously, and will take every step necessary to assist in containing this virus.”
The Silvertips have clinched home ice advantage in the upcoming playoffs. Their opponent is yet to be determined but Games 1 and 2 of the first round are set for Friday March 27th and Saturday March 28th. While they will enjoy the home ice the ‘Tips would also prefer to have their hometown fans with them to cheer them on. That likely won’t happen given the current public crowd restrictions. You can keep track of the updates here on the Silvertips website.
