Everett

Thursday evening Everett Community College President Daria Willis issued this brief statement:

Good evening,
Everett Community College has received many questions and requests for additional information from students, faculty, and staff about the student who informed us this afternoon of a positive COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) test.

I understand why you are concerned, but I need to ask for your patience, please.
We are working closely with the Snohomish Health District. The Health District has asked the college to give their disease investigators some time to do their work. Consequently, we are not providing further information at this time.

If you were directly impacted, you will be contacted by public health officials as soon as possible.
Please see the latest information posted by the Health District with recommendations that include social distancing and staying home if you are sick.

Everett Community College closed their campus and it will remain closed until Monday while it undergoes a cleaning.

While no students have reported exposure or a positive test, WSU Everett has also closed their campus and posted the following on their webpage:

COVID-19 UPDATE: Out of an abundance of caution, Washington State University Everett and Everett University Center facilities are closed immediately until Monday for a deep cleaning.

Any classes being held on Friday will be delivered using other methods. Please communicate with professors and staff you may need assistance from so you maintain your academic responsibilities.
