It seems pretty simple. Friday, Everett Public Works closed Sievers Duecy Road between Hardeson and Glenwood Avenue due to water covering the roadway.
They put up really big barricades that warned the road was closed.
They added a large sign that says Water Over Roadway and there was that very visible pond of water across the road from one side to the other.
In spite of that, on Saturday drivers in Everett were going around the road closed signs, right by the Water Over Roadway warning and directly into that big pond of water.
For some it did not end well.
Flooding also led Everett Parks to close Rotary Park, the boat launch and the walking trail as the Snohomish River rose after days of heavy rains. Here are a few MyEverettNews.com photos. Click to enlarge.
