Car Collides With Swift Bus On Evergreen Way

The bus was northbound on Evergreen Way, the car was southbound and crossed into the northbound lanes.
The Everett Police Traffic Safety Unit is looking into whether distracted driving may have played a role in a crash between a car and a Swift Transit bus in the 7100 block of Evergreen Way Tuesday night.
The bus was headed northbound on Evergreen Way when it was hit by a large passenger sedan that crossed over from the southbound lanes. The driver of the sedan was trapped inside the car and had to be extricated by Everett Firefighters. He was transported by medic unit to Providence Regional Medical Center. There were 7 people on the bus plus the driver and none of them were injured. Evergreen Way was closed northbound for a couple of hours between 75th street and Madison for the investigation. All northbound lanes were blocked in front of Rodland Used Cars.

The driver was trapped in the car.

The bus driver and 7 passengers were not injured.

Firefighters worked with a variety of tools to gain access.

Rescuers had to remove the roof and doors to free the driver.
