Initial Post, 9:00PM: Everett Police have been working two different scenes in a shooting investigation that began about 3:45 PM and has gone into the night. According to Deputy Police Chief John DeRousse an off-duty Everett Police officer was working at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Casino Road Friday afternoon when he heard what sounded like gunfire.

The officer saw a white truck leave the complex and head east on Casino Road. The officer reported seeing what appeared to be blood on the ground in the area where the truck had been.

A short time later Everett Police received calls of a white truck stopped on 4th Avenue West just west of Evergreen Way and an occupant was covered in blood. Everett Police arrived and administered first aid for an apparent gunshot wound to the man. He was taken by Medics to Providence Regional Medical Center.

Other officers converged on that apartment complex in the 900 block of Casino Road and surrounded one building. The SWAT team has been called out and is now on scene. Several people have been evacuated from their apartments. At this time no other information is available. We will update when more information becomes available.
