Another heads-up from the folks at Naval Station Everett.

Naval Station Everett will be conducting security training exercises on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and Tuesday, Nov. 12 at its main Everett base. On both days, the exercise will occur from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Gates will be closed briefly for 10 minute intervals throughout the exercise.

The exercise will include mass warning notifications on outdoor speakers, an increased presence of security and small boats in the harbor, and the use of blank rounds to simulate gunfire.

The Navy regularly conducts training exercises to maintain and improve security and emergency response qualifications. These exercises help prepare for a potential real emergency. They also provide valuable training opportunities for coordination between Navy personnel and mutual aid partners in local law enforcement.
