The City of Everett seeks residents aged 16-21 to serve on the newly created Youth Advisory Board. The board offers local youth a unique opportunity to participate in public policy and engage in the Everett community.
“Young people bring different and fresh perspectives to local issues and their voices need to be heard,” said Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin. “I believe this advisory board will mutually benefit the City, community and the youth who serve.”
The board will advance the inclusion and representation of youth in legislation, policies and City practices. The interests and priorities of its members will drive the specific work of the board.
The board will consist of 12-15 members, ages 16-21, who serve a one-year term. Members will meet a minimum of once a month, depending on current projects. Applications are due Sept. 2. Meetings will begin in early October and take place at the Everett Municipal Building, located at 2930 Wetmore Ave.
