Everett Fire Department Brush Truck Starting To See Service

Everett Fire

You may see a lot more of EFD’s new brush truck as the weather heats up.

The Lowell-Snohomish River Road was blocked for about 45 minutes.

The Brush Truck has special hoses and equipment to make accessing fires in grassy and wooded areas a bit easier.

Brush and trees were reported on fire by several callers to 911.

The fire was near the bank of the Snohomish River.

It’s only been available for about a month but the new Everett Fire Department Brush Truck is starting to see service.

There have been a few brush and grass fires lately, the latest Monday evening about a half mile south of Rotary Park on the Lowell-Snohomish River Road.

That fire closed the road for about 45 minutes. Flames were reported in the trees and brush along the river.

In addition to the brush truck, two engine companies and a ladder truck responded to that fire.

The advantage to the brush truck is it can access areas where a heavy fire truck cannot go and also carries special hose that is easier to use in thick grass and brush.
