One man was arrested by detectives on suspicion of 2nd degree murder.

At 7:12pm on July 6th, Everett officers were dispatched to a call of shooting that had just occurred. While driving to the area they received another call regarding a vehicle collision. The arriving officers found the rear-end collision blocking Glenwood Avenue. The front vehicle was empty. The rear vehicle was occupied by one person, in the driver’s seat. That male, believed to be in his 40’s, had severe head injuries, and appeared to have been shot. He was removed from the vehicle so emergency first aid could be provided, but he could not be revived. A witness to the collision told officers that the suspect was standing nearby, in a group of onlookers. An adult male in his 50’s was contacted and detained. A handgun was recovered from his pocket. Detectives interviewed the suspect and later booked him into the Snohomish County Jail for Murder 2nd.
