Everett City Attorney Jim Iles

At the Wednesday night City Council meeting it was announced that Jim Iles will be retiring after 42 years service with the City of Everett, Washington. For the last 15 years Iles has been the City Attorney, appointed to that position in 2004 after serving 27 years in the City’s legal department. He has served 8 Mayors (2 temporary and 6 full-term or more). His family connection with Everett city government goes way back as he mentioned during remarks that his grandfather served on the Everett City Council one hundred years ago. He graduated from Cascade High School and Everett Community College and earned his law degree at Gonzaga after getting a bachelors degree at UW. No word yet on who may succeed him in the position.
