Passing this along for the good folks at Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop who have added some Sunday work parties including tomorrow (May 19th) in order to meet their goal of restoring 75 bikes for needy kids by June 9th.

Sharing Wheels now has about 25 bikes completed out of our goal of 75, ready to go for this year’s Kids Bike Swap, June 9th. Every bike needs some TLC first – cleaning, new tires, safe brakes, etc. We really need your help to make our goal of +75 bikes for the kids!

We are adding a couple Sundays to our work party schedule May 19th & June 2, 1-4 pm to help get to our goal. No experience is needed, just a willingness to get greasy!

We welcome families and groups to plan a day of service at the shop. Snacks will be provided (snack sponsors / donors welcome!). We’ve also got some special incentives to encourage you to keep coming back – repeat volunteers are our favorite!

Help at three work parties and earn $20 credit to spend on anything at the shop. Help at four work parties this fall and you’ll earn a $10 Starbucks card or a Sharing Wheels t-shirt (your choice). Must sign in and help at least 1.5 hours per event.

Volunteers who work at least 10 hours in a month can also make special orders through our wholesaler at cost plus 20% (plus tax) – just in time for the fair-weather riding season.

We are also setting up our roster of volunteers for the day of the Kids Bike Swap! Let us know how you’d like to help! We’ll need volunteers to help with:

Bike Check In
Test Ride Corral
Helmet Fitting
Check Out
Bike Mechanics

All activities are at the shop, 2531 Broadway Ave. in Everett. Entrance and parking are in the back of the Broadway Mall building. Please come help out, as we have a big project ahead of us!

We have about 75 kids bikes to refurbish for very deserving kids!
