Public Invited To Comment On Plans To Expand St. Mary Magdalen Church

City of Everett planners are taking comments on a proposal to expand and remodel St. Mary Magdalen Church located at 8517 7th Ave SE in south Everett. Comments are being accepted through May 24th. Here’s more the the application filed with the City.

The site is currently home to St. Mary Magdalen Church and Catholic school. On the site there is also a parish office, gymnasium and two portable classrooms as well as a rectory building. The St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School is home to over 400 students from preschool through 8th grade and employs a staff of 35-40 educators. The Church is home to over 600 members and employs a staff of 12.

The proposed project includes the remodel and addition of the existing church. We will be adding approximately 5,101sf which will expand the existing congregation seating area and lobby as well as a façade re-design. Site improvements include re-working the parking and drop-off area in front of the church as well as the addition of new sidewalks and landscape planters around the church.
