There is a public meeting this Thursday.

On March 14th we told you about work the City of Everett is doing on planning how to spend Community Development Block Grant funds. Word in now that the city is holding two public meetings to try and gain feedback from residents on where best to spend those federal housing dollars.

There is one meeting this week in south Everett and another next week in north Everett. Here’s more from the city on what they’re looking for from you and how you can get involved.

Each year since 1976, the City of Everett has received funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This funding comes in the form of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).  The Committee for Housing and Community Development reviews the annual applications and makes funding recommendations to City Council.

Public Comments are being collected on the Draft 2020 – 2024 Consolidated Plan’s “Citizen Participation Plan”, which guides citizen participation for the Consolidated Plan process.

If you would like to provide comment or be included in notifications, please send written comments to Kembra Landry, Community Development Department, 2930 Wetmore Avenue, Suite 8-A, Everett, WA 98201 or via email.
