Good news from the Port of Everett.

Things are moving ahead on the modernization of the south terminal at the Port of Everett.

Tuesday marked the installation of the final steel pile to support a strengthened South Terminal.

In total, 343 piles were set since the $36 million project kicked-off in summer 2018. Upland structural and utility work will continue throughout the year.

Port of Everett officials say the strengthened dock will be ready to support the next generation of over-dimensional cargo, including aerospace parts for the new 777X by December 2019.
